Mr Robins has previously held the position of Head of Psychology at an independent low secure hospital. He has also been the Head of a Learning Disability service and a Challenging Behaviour service in the NHS. He has extensive experience working with mentally disordered offenders, adult mental health psychology, alcohol and drug addictions and as a Court diversion specialist. Mr Robins started his career as a Youth Worker with a Local Authority on projects for supporting and developing the skills of disadvantaged children. He also worked with Mencap with children with severe and profound learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders and challenging behaviour.
Mr Robins has also provided training and workshops to professionals such as: Occupational Health, Social Work, Nursing, Medical Specialisations, Management and Administration, with training ranging from half day introductions to topics, to more in-depth practical training in specific skills in a range of settings including: Local Authorities, Universities and Colleges, Private Companies, Charities, and the NHS. He has provided lectures and workshops in his areas of experience such as: Attachment, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Autism Spectrum Conditions, Bereavement and Loss, Managing Change, Mindfulness in the Workplace, Motivational Interviewing in the Workplace, CBT and Psychosis, Suicide and Self-harming, Counselling and Communication Skills, Risk Assessment and Management and Mental Capacity. He also provides training in forensic topics such as: Violence Risk, Sexual Offending Risk, Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence and Personality Disorders.
