Psicon has been providing comprehensive Medico-Legal services to support a wide range of legal processes since 2000.

Our consultants can provide assessments of adults, young people and children in relation to personal injury cases, forensic cases, family proceedings and capacity assessments. We further provide assessments of employees in relation to employment litigation and tribunals.

  • Mr Cliff Robins is the Director and Head of Psicon Medico-Legal Services. Mr Robins is a Consultant Counselling Psychologist chartered by the British Psychological Society. He is a member of The British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists, The International Association for Forensic Psychotherapy, and The British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis. He is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Mr Robins has broad experience in the assessment of adults, young people and children with mental health problems, developmental disorders, learning disabilities and autistic spectrum conditions. He has been instructed in civil and criminal cases in Family and County Courts, the High Court, and The Court of Appeal since 2001. He has extensive experience working with mentally disordered offenders, adult mental health psychology, and alcohol and drug addictions, and as a Court diversion specialist.

Mr Robins has the following specialist training:

EMDR training to advanced level

Certified in the risk assessment of sexual and violent offending

Certified in the assessment of psychopathy

Certified in the assessment of attachment disorders

Bond Solon training in Court and legal practices, including Family Procedure Rules for Expert Witnesses Certificate

Advanced training in the assessment of mental capacity (Mental Capacity Act)

Child and Adult Safeguarding

Mental Health Act 1983 and as amended 2007

Extended Community Based Assessment
